Introduction
The application user interface is organized into the following main content areas:
- Header - Displays the application name and provides options for accessing InVision Home, Help, and logging out of the application.
- Entity Types - Navigation pane for configured entity types
- Data View - Viewer for interacting with the data
Using the icon in the upper left section of the header will display a navigation menu. This navigation menu contains the available Entity Types for the application. Upon clicking an Entity Type from the navigation menu, the pane will close and a grid will be displayed in the data view.
Header
From a browser or tablet the header of the application displays the name of the application (as defined during the creation of the application) and provides tools for navigating back to IV Home, accessing help or logging out of the application.
Entity Types
The left pane of the application lists the entity types available for viewing and/or editing within this application. Tap or click on an Entity Type to view its contents in the Data View.
Data View
The data view reveals the contents of the chosen entity type. This grid based display provides sorting, filtering and - if enabled - options to create, update or delete entities. When an entity type is defined as editable, along with the options to create, update, or delete single entities, it is possible to select multiple rows to perform a bulk update to the data.
If an entity type is related to another entity type and can be considered the 'parent', then an additional option will be presented allowing the user to expand the view so that the 'children' records are revealed in a subgrid.
If an entity type is not related to another entity type, at minimum the first column of the grid will be frozen by default. If the entity type is editable and has options for updating and deleting entities, or the ability to bulk update attributes, these columns will also be frozen. Once the data has been loaded into the grid, it is possible to reorder the columns and freeze additional columns.
